Happy Sunday,
It’s that time of year again. We won’t be running any sales on Black Friday this year. We will be running a sale during Cyber Week. To be honest, we have always struggled with how to present Arvin Goods on Black Friday. We are too small to be a big draw for huge shopping events like this. Big companies have two primary product groups for this time of year. Overstock they need to clear out, or product built specifically to be moved in volume in this short window for the holidays. Brands like us just have our regular products and inventory, and discounts are great if we can get some momentum out of it, but too heavy a discount can also be damaging. We also do not always have a bunch of extra stuff sitting in stock just to be slashed. Don’t get us wrong, we will run a sale, but it’s not always simple to plan.
We have tried the trends. Huge Sale. No Sale. “We are closed on Black Friday”. Most of these things are gimmicks, and what we have realized in the past few years is that we have a loyal returning customer base that expects a high-quality product from us, and when we earn a new customer, we want it to be because they are interested in our brand, not because they saw an ad for the cheapest socks on Black Friday, you can hit Target for that bullsh*t. And, you know who makes the most money from that ad? Facebook, or Google, not the brand you’re checking out.
So, do your thing, shop til you drop this week. But keep an eye out for Arvin Goods and other small or medium-sized brands that are also trying to steal some space in the madness of “Black Friday”.
Thank you for reading! Enjoy the news below, and we wish you a great week!
Hope you enjoy today’s Clean Up. We would love to hear from you. Comment here on Substack, hit us on social, or email us at info@arvingoods.com. Have a great week. Cheers,

Cancel Black Friday? ‘Mass Blackout’ doesn’t want you to shop or work to protest Trump - USA TODAY
A coalition of grassroots organizations is calling for a nationwide economic shutdown during the busy holiday shopping season, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday, to protest the Trump administration and economic inequality.
The groups – Blackout the System, The People’s Sick Day, American Opposition, the Money Out of Politics Movement, and The Progressive Network – urged Americans to stop all spending and refuse to go to work during the “Mass Blackout,” which runs from Nov. 25 to Dec. 2.
Avoid travel and restaurants and cancel streaming and digital subscriptions, organizers said. “If you must spend: support small, local businesses only. Pay in cash.” Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30 is exempted from the blackout.⬛️🛒
