Classification … PEACE > #MIND, #HOWTO, #REPROGRAMMING, #SELFHELP … (QUICK-METHOD)
Overview
If you ever want a super-quick, simple method to center yourself, calm your mind, and focus your attention, this is for you. (This quick-read method can, if you wish, be extended in 5 additional ways to improve your life.)

Because it takes you there in one moment, and it provides you with a lovely moment of peace. At any time. Any time you wish. At any moment.

  1. The Basic Technique: Very useful for a fast reset, feels great, and it focuses your attention.

~Take a deep breath, and hold it at the top.
    ~Feel your mind go still.
~Hold the stillness right where it is, feel it there, and then …
~As you slowly exhale, let the stillness flow down into your body.
    .

  2. Application #1: A quick mind-calmer at any time

    ~Going into an important meeting?
~At the door, pause, hold it at the top, feel the relaxation.
~Open the door and join your meeting.

    .

  3. Application #2: Use as a preliminary to do the Twenty-Second Tuneup

~The Twenty-Second Tuneup makes you feel good fast.
~See “Further Resources” below for link to the “howto” article.

    .

  4. Application #3: Use as the first step of any mental reprogramming method

~Gives you a quick mind-calming and focus before any standard induction into a mind-reprogramming process.
~Don’t know how to reprogram your mind? No problem. See “Further Resources” below for links to simple and powerful methods.
~You can use these for physical and mental healing, increasing intuition, manifesting, cleaning up past upsets, learning skills, and much more.

    .

  5. Application #4: Turn Hold It at the Top into a longer meditation practice

~The common essence of all meditation methods is to hold the mind still, and to do this, you choose ONE THING to fix the mind upon. It might be a sound (“mantra”); it might be your breath going in and out; it might be looking into the light of a candle flame.
~The essence of meditation is focusing on one thing, to hold still the mind’s darting all around like a wild monkey jacked on coffee.
~When your mind is racing, this is a great first step to corral that rascal!
~But you can also use that sensation of stillness itself as a “fixative” upon which to hold your mind. You feel your mind go still, then focus on that sensation of stillness, right where it is in relation to your body, and then "HOLD” that sensation right there where it is. If it fades, simply take another deep breath to perceive and return to holding that stillness again.
~Once you can do that, you’re going to need to resume breathing, so just start breathing gently while still holding the sensation of stillness right where it is.
~This is not the easiest of meditations for holding the mind still—if meditation is new to you, then using a mantra like Transcendental Meditation does, or following the breath are probably easier—but stilling the mind at the top, and holding that stillness is quite powerful as a meditation, and increases your ability to center yourself very powerfully.

    .

  6. Application #5: Use Hold It at the Top to help with falling asleep

~I had a wife with an amazing ability: She’d lie down at night and she was immediately asleep. One moment awake, and the next deep asleep.
~For most of us, it’s not that way.
~So you might experiment with this extended mind-calming meditation as a first step to falling asleep.
~In another article, I’ll show how to then transform Hold It at the Top into the Hu meditation, which is easier to hold for a longer time, and which can lead you smoothly into the “hypnogogic” state, where the images behind your closed eyes can be seen and followed, which can lead you into dreams and deep sleep.

Yeah, it probably is. The basic technique is a short burst of mental calm. And although it’s short, the more you practice this, the more powerfully it works to calm the mind and focus your thought for whatever comes next.

Have fun!

Self Hypnosis in Two Days — by Freda Morris. Freda was a friend of mine, back in San Francisco days, and she ran a school for therapists, teaching hypnosis, and especially the powerful methods created by Milton Erickson, and popularized by Bandler and Grinder, which we now know as NLP (NeuroLinguistic Programming). Freda provides a quick learning system you can absorb over a single weekend, learning skills and mental reprogramming to use for the rest of your life. Works. Simple. Easy-to-learn.

The Silva Method: Life System — created by Jose Silva. This link is to their video course, a self-paced and an extremely well-researched method that many thousands of people have learned since 1966, when Jose Silva launched his method in Laredo, Texas. The method has grown extremely popular in India, where meditation and mind-programming has a long history. And it still works a treat. I learned this system in a live seminar in San Francisco in the 1980’s, and I still use it today. They now offer live seminars via zoom, but my recommendation—for best value & self-pacing—is to use AUDIO. The basic audio course is here. And an expanded audio combination course is here. In my opinion, if you want self-reprogramming skills, these audio courses give the best path I know of.
