In 2018, I started my artist journey by creating my first painting of a weeping willow tree. It is hard to believe that YEARS have past since that moment in time. Back then, I had no idea that trusting my intuition to grab paints and a canvas from Michaels would lead me down a seven year journey of selling my artwork at vendor events, being spotlighted in various galleries, and meeting all of you!
Over the years I’ve:
Hosted virtual Black, Indigenous, Womyn of Color & Queer folks biweekly new and full moon circles
Moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and started the Urban Wildlife Haven to share urban gardening techniques, teach workshops, and host gatherings
Featured in the Arkansas Hearne Gallery and at the Baltimore Arena Players Gallery for my art focusing on Black womyn
Hosted a Black Fairy gathering for young & grown folks in Little Rock, Arkansas to play and relax
Participated in Artist Inc program to develop my professional artistic skills
Thank you for staying connected to my journey…even when I haven’t been the best at communicating 🙃. I’m forever grateful. Through it all, I’ve learned how to lean on my courage even when things felt hard and to trust my authenticity even when it would have been easier to be disingenuous.
I think it is safe to say that we’ve all been through the wringer and experienced hard times over the years at some point. And let’s be honest, this new president’s administration is going to and already is bringing new challenges and causing major disruption...not in a good way. I respect the mix of feelings you may be experiencing and want to validate them all. Sending many hugs, if you like that kind of thing 💕🫂
It’s going to be a rough ride, yet it is also an opportunity to lean into joy, beauty and the people that make you feel held and whole. Every day we wake up and breathe, it is another chance to step into the world, claim our space, and demand that our rights be respected. This year, I plan to fully embody my corner of the world and I hope you can join me in that embodiment.
As my artistry, enters its seventh year, I have some new changes to share with you. A few hints, it has to do with performance art, education, fairy cosplay, and the great outdoors! I’m launching my new venture called: Lavender the Herbal Fairy where I’ll be fusing art, environmental science, holistic wellness, African-American diasporic spiritual practices, and land stewardship on my YouTube channel. As the world changes around us, I plan to keep my joy and my freedom of autonomy.
Today I am sharing my first video where you can learn 10 fun facts about me that you may not have known before. I’ll be using this channel as a medium to share my knowledge on plant medicine, nature trails, foraging, making natural herbal products, creating nature art and what ever else sparks my creativity. I’m unleashing my imagination to run free, I’m so sick of the box I created for myself unintentionally and the box society wants Check it out!

This journey called life is an ever winding road with some paths leading to new opportunities and others to dead ends, but what we choose to focus on during that journey really is key. Life is a gift, even if it’s a gift we didn’t ask for or a gift we don’t want. But everyday, when we get a new chance to exist and live, I dare you to take it. You’ll never know where the winding path leads if you rob yourself of living out loud. Let’s walk, hand in hand—even if we gotta crawl at some point—creating the future we want to live in while embodying it in our present. I look forward to seeing you in YouTube-landia.
