take ten // chinoiserie, perfectly patinated chairs, and blush for a windswept flush of color

The hyacinth bulbs I planted two years ago are popping their heads up on my front lawn today, and spring suddenly feels very present (and welcomed!) We’ve been nonstop at AOI/Fenimore Lane the last few weeks, so here are the quick hits of what I’ve been admiring/excited about/pining for/reading when I have a moment to myself:

1. I am itching to see the new chinoiserie exhibit at The Met. Monstrous Beauty: A Feminist Revision of Chinoiserie radically reimagines the story of European porcelain through a feminist lens and walks you through a menagerie of gorgeous servingware with a riveting story. The perfect activity for a beautiful day on the Upper East Side; walk to E.A.T. for lunch after and enjoy a crisp Arnie P in the sun with some chicken salad on health bread (my personal favorite.) 

2. I certainly do not need another waxed/barn jacket, but this one keeps pulling me into its gravitational force. Alex Mill really does it for me.

3. This set of six patinaed chairs are giving Bunny Mellon in a big, gorgeous way.

4. I just started reading Graydon Carter’s memoir and it is, no surprise, fantastic. I highly recommend it.

5. I tried out the new Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks + Face Trace duo and can report back that it gives an instant sculpted effect plus a windswept glow that is very natural. Gucci never ceases to amaze me!

6. Still on my turquoise kick – can’t stop won’t stop.

7. Speaking of Graydon Carter: a great TLDR if you’re not up for the memoir.

8. File under: beautiful things I will dream about for weeks on end. This needs a chocolate brown room, stat. 

9. I have my best friend’s baby shower this weekend, and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t get these in time – the perfect gift.

10.  Nestig’s adorable new mini-chair, which is quite fabulous in the gingham and looks beyond sweet in my daughter’s room. Love their fabric choices (and ability to customize!)
