I told you about my Screenshots folder. It's where I keep track of what I like — a visual shopping diary of sorts, the thing that lets me close 534 open tabs in one click.
The rule is simple: if I'm not willing to spend time explaining why I want it, if I don't even feel like telling you about it, it doesn't make the weekly list. But if I can't stop thinking about it and already picture five ways to wear it, then it goes on the weekly What I Want To Buy This Week list.
Here are this week’s top picks, in no particular order!
Things I’d like to wear every day:
Shall we?
✦
I slept on it and now want to go back to get them! I tried this pair of 501 90s yesterday, this time in my true size (i.e. not sizing up). This light wash is the perfect light wash.
I’d treat it like a neutral. With a white baby tee, ballet flats, the taupe trench, a soft bag, and voilà. If the selvedge didn’t work for you — either because you sized up and didn’t like it, or because you didn’t love the wash — I’d recommend getting your true size in this wash, skipping the entire headache of trying to source a perfect vintage 501 in a light wash. I tried them on size W23L30, and would not change a thing!
✦
There is nothing I don’t like about those new baby tees. It’s the campaign image that caught my attention (and the white ballet flats!) Do we need more basics? Well, I’d say we need better basics.
Here, made in Portugal, 100% mercerized organic cotton. Designed to be worn every day. The fabric is smooth, strong, and will hold its shape (and colour!!) wash after wash. The brand released 3 new T-shirts styles, basically the only 3 T-shirts styles you need: the Baby Tee, the Everyday tee (a boxy fit, more roomy), and the Ribbed Cotton Baby Tee (in ecru, black, brown). Let’s appreciate the wide range of sizing: XXS-XXL. I’d personally go for a size S (broad shoulders team!)
✦
Including the Everyday Tank here because it’s been restocked in all colours and sizes. Supportive, classic, I like how they look in the back, it’s a low-cut and it makes it modern (see for yourself).
You can wear them without a bra. They are not see-through! If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, it’s a really good recommendation. Create your own bundle: pick three of the same style, and save 15%. I’d personally go for a size XS here. I’d get ecru, black and grey — cream to go with aforementioned jeans, black to go with tailored trousers or a silk skirt, grey to make anything look more casual and less serious!
✦
Butter soft nappa leather, and this colour… Say no more. Just picture this bag with the taupe trench (from this letter), the cream baby tee, the 501s in light wash, and your favourite jewellery.
This bag is the big sister, shoulder bag version of this pouch. With a proper shoulder strap. If you’re in the US, it ships from the US, all included. If you’re outside of the US, it ships from Australia, you can expect customs and duties (around 20/30€ in my experience) but it’s totally worth it because you’ll wear this bag a lot. It also comes in dark brown (chic!) and black (classic!)
✦
This oversized shirt is “designed to feel familiar from the first wear”, as per the product description, and this is what got me curious. It’s organic cotton, and stone-washed to create that lived-in feel.
I know from experience that a shirt that feels too precious, too crisp will not get worn, but this one has the potential to become a new favourite, easy to look after. It comes in light blue and striped blue/white, and I’d personally go for the white one in XS and wear it with jeans and barely there sandals.
✦
Don’t get me wrong: I love my terry bathrobe. This one, precisely, in the most beautiful blue (size XS).
But after reading this post yesterday, I am convinced that we all need a beautiful silk robe to get ready in the morning. Something just for ourselves: intentional, beautiful, and luxurious. I’ll be on the hunt for more options, but so far, I love this silk kimono in an original pattern of soft muted colours (the lingerie I own from this brand is my favourite, so I bet the robe is also the best quality) and the original recommendation from Meg, in black. It’s timeless. I mean… imagine the quality of your entire day when you spend 10 minutes getting ready before meeting the world, wearing a silk robe that no one else but you will see?
✦
Very often, the chicest women out there are wearing things we can’t buy in one click. It’s the personality pieces that have been well-loved, often hard to get…
