Arcium · Arcium’s Substack

The wait is over — Arcium’s Public Testnet is officially live. Builders can begin experimenting with Arcium tooling. Whether you're experimenting with Arcium-powered applications or building with Arcium’s tech stack, everything starts today.

Privacy is the biggest unresolved problem in crypto. For too long, blockchains have operated with total transparency, limiting innovation. This hinders key applications from scaling and inhibits institutional adoption. Put simply, blockchain and crypto won’t work without privacy. Arcium is here to solve this.

Arcium is an encrypted supercomputer, fully decentralized and capable of computing over fully encrypted data. Developers, applications, and organizations can now access trustless, high-performance private computation — unlocking use cases that were never before possible while enhancing existing on-chain apps. From AI and DeFi to healthcare, defense, and traditional finance, Arcium provides a new computational fabric for industries to innovate without compromise.

Our Private Testnet saw over 50,000 applications, confirming the overwhelming demand for encrypted applications. Now, we are opening encrypted computing to all, marking a fundamental shift in how data is utilized.

Arcium is being rolled out in three phases, gradually opening up the network to the community. Each phase unlocks new capabilities as we move toward mainnet.

Arcium will ship with fully featured tooling, with working demos being rolled out over the next weeks. Staking and delegation mechanisms and third-party node operators will be added in subsequent phases

  • Clusters are run and managed internally by the Arcium team

  • Select 3rd party node operators may be invited in, depending on early stability

  • A live Arcium Network explorer

  • Demo apps deployed on a rolling basis based on votes happening on gmpc.xyz.

  • Open up for third-party node operators

  • Improved preprocessing model

  • Launch testnet token staking and delegation mechanisms

  • Introduce batch processing for performance and scalability gains

  • Reveal some partner applications and prepare for mainnet launch

We're still exploring timelines for some advanced features. More phases could be added depending on progress. Check out our newly updated docs to get familiar with Arcium!

Our recent launch of gmpc.xyz, the public domain of the Arcium community, will be integral to Public Testnet. Our goal is to converge builders and community members, giving every type of community member the opportunity to have a lasting impact on Arcium, together.

Keep an eye out as we roll out more features on gmpc.xyz, including user profiles, demo apps, and educational resources.

To begin building or testing encrypted applications, head to our Testnet page. It's also a good idea to familiarize yourself with gmpc.xyz, read our docs, follow us on X, and check our website for more updates.

The <encrypted> future starts today.
