I was going to write a proper piece this week all about the philosophical wonders of this Kurt Vonnegut quote that I shared last week. But time is tight. I’ve got a show to hang and an opening to set up for. We can talk about the pros and cons of going out to buy envelopes rather than just getting them online another time.
Instead I want to share with you a piece of writing I’ve done for the show.
To avoid sinking into obtuse “art speak” language I’ve written it as a letter to you my visitors. It ties together the different elements of the show and their motivations, but above all I hope it makes clear why I’ve chosen to pursue this path of Death obsession in my work.
The letter has two sides, on the other you’ll find the price list for the works available. All originals will be sold on a first come first serve basis to visitors on Thursday night. If you can’t make it but are interested in one of these pieces then get in touch on Friday and I can send details if they are still available.
Below is link to Google drive folder with the pdf (If you notice any typos please let me know, I keep missing them at the moment!)
Show opens this Thursday the 30th 6-9pm. And it will also be open Friday 12-6, Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 11-5. It’s at 67 York Street Gallery in Marylebone.
And if you’re planning on coming down to opening on Thursday night and you haven’t already then please RSVP to hello@archieproudfoot.com
