When linen is beautifully woven the lines are uniform. Tight tracks march seamlessly through the fabric, without a hitch, without a bump. A well woven piece of linen is strong and durable whilst remaining light and free. But this is not normal. Cheap linens covered in the scars of a rushed process, full of irregularities and slubs, show that when craftsmanship is not there, the work suffers.
