I’ve noticed that something amazing happens when you take the time to understand what works for you. Doing so becomes a doorway to becoming who you truly are.

And when you start seeing who you are, life becomes simpler because you stop demanding of yourself the things that work better for other people.

As a writer, I’ve definitely had to do this, simplifying my process until it fits what comes naturally to me. There are a million ways to write, and it’s so easy to get fixated on how other writers work (Steven King. Ernest Hemingway…). But the only way that really matters is the way that truly fits you.

So I’m happy to be sharing a sneak peak into my writing process during the Keep It Simple Summit. The title of my presentation is Pressure-Free & Authentic Content Creation, and it will be available from July 5th to July 9th 2026.

I’ll be sharing my basic process for creating blog posts, articles, and emails—like this one. Although my focus is on writing, what I share can be translated to other mediums, like creating videos.

To be honest, I don’t view my writing as just “content”. It’s my way of authentically connecting with you. But I had to make it easy for people to understand what I’m talking about here. So much pressure comes from facing a blank page, and my hope is to help others, especially writers, to go from, “I don’t know what to share” to “I have too much to share.”

This summit is totally free and if you attend, you can also get my book, 44 Days of Pressure Free Productivity: A Workbook for Building Balance Into How You Get Things Done, for free as well. So click here to get your free ticket.

As a side note, if you decide to upgrade to the premium version of this summit using my link, I will earn something from that. I don’t share affiliate links often at all, but affiliate links is how summit speakers get paid for what they do. This is actually my second speaking gig for this year, which is pretty crazy!

I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for as long as I have, but reflecting on the past decade, my favorite thing about keeping a blog is that it has served as a space to openly experiment, develop my personal taste, and deeply understand what works for me.

Recently on my blog I created a special page called The Quiet Room. It’s basically a map of how to become more fully yourself, especially during times of change.

I love this page so much. It makes the last decade feel like it’s been worth it, even if my work is slow-growing. I hope the blog posts listed in The Quiet Room will help you to slow down, check in, and remember what works for you.

And if things pan out, I also hope to be doing another Listen & Journal session sometime in August. I’ll be letting you know about that if it happens. 🙂

So with that, I hope this email serves as a little permission slip to stop forcing yourself into systems that don’t fit, listen to intuition, and remember what you’ve forgotten.
