Using actions within our Drive & Space offense to practice shooting. Slot-to-slot pass ➡️ Slice / Fingers cut ➡️ if corner defender overplays, then cut backdoor / if defender stays in the gap, lift for 3PA. A second shot comes in the corner to the original passer.

One of the more common questions I get from coaches is, “What all do you track in regard to player performance?”
Thanks to Hudl, all sorts of advanced stats are available after the game is over. But what about the things that aren’t available in real time? How about things that don’t necessarily show up in the box score?
I asked Miami (OH) head men’s basketball coach, Travis Steele, about the topic when he joined me on A Quick Timeout podcast. He broke down the RedHawks’ “Hustle Stats.”

Do you coach younger players? He’s one to work on dribbling (for both defense and offense) then finishing against a live defender.
Instructions: Players start under the basket facing each other. On the coach’s “go,” the defender dribbles around the cone on the baseline and the offense dribbles around the cone on the wing. The defender walls up to contest the shot. The offense must finish in the paint off two feet.

Over his five seasons at Maryville College, Coach Raul Placeres has accumulated a 79-36 overall record, including 4 regular season titles and 3 conference tournament championships. In each of the past two seasons in the newly formed Collegiate Conference of the South NCAA Division III conference, Placeres’ Scots have finished in the top 2 in scoring, #1 in FG%, and in the top 2 in 3P%.
In this webclinic, Coach Placeres shares the offensive philosophy, practice drills, and game film from his adapted Drive & Space conceptual offense. At the conclusion, he answers a variety of questions from coaches, including adaption for younger teams, important statistical categories, and practice tips.
