Mars: Space Barbarian was the first comic I ever wrote, back in 2012 or 2013, if the ancient SpaceBarbarian.com is to be believed. It wasn’t initially created for kids, so I never thought to publish it via Apple Jim. But the more I read YA comics with my son, the more I realize the cartoon violence in the four Mars stories I wrote is less intense than some stuff I’ve seen in, for example, Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales. All to say, this is not for kids 10 or under, but probably just fine for tweens to teens.
The pages below are the first portion of a Mars issue I printed years ago, as well as the first story that I created with Andrew MacLean. Shout out to my old buddy Adam Pruett for designing the issue, making sure all the files looked good, and actually getting Mars into a few issues of Savage Dragon back in the day!
