Do standards become "standard" because of some external force? Some disruption just forces whatever is deemed sensible enough into adoption? I can imagine a decade of debate on a standard and then agreement in a day because of some bigger problem that forces the decision. Maybe worryingly in some instances, tech standards are somewhat possibly going to take hold purely because of the shift in focus to LLMs: SQL+dbt for analytics, React tailwind etc for web, S3 for storage Or are they are adopted organically and the railway thing was an anomaly?
