Pointed Claude at a code lib and asked it to summarize its operations. The summary required a deep understanding of the lib, defeating the purpose of the summary. Opus 5 and Fable 5 seem to have this same issue.

I have used the word orthogonal six times this week in meetings and probably only three other times in the last twenty years. I think I have been watermarked.

AI watermarking is not about safety or quality, it's about fear and slowing down how AI is used. If we are worried about slop we would write a slop detector. A sentence written by AI is not more "dangerous" than a sentence written by a human.

Correct, the problem is that there is very little benefit to the user, a watermark tells you nothing about trustworthiness or quality of the content. At worst it implies that the content did not include human involvement in any substantive way. It only benefits Anthropic.
