‘Hermit Crab’ Protests Crab Races

“Shell No! Stop Racing Crabs!” That’s the message animal defenders brought to the Ocean City Boardwalk outside the Miss Crustacean Beauty Pageant and Hermit Crab Races. PETA supporters called on organizers to keep the quirky shore tradition but stop using live animals by switching to robotic crabs, which PETA has offered to provide.

Life-Size Animatronic Bear Pleads With Tourists: ‘Never Visit Roadside Zoos!’

Tourists came face-to-face with PETA’s talking, 7-foot-tall, animatronic bear, Bernard, voiced by Oscar-winning actor Casey Affleck. Bernard warned everyone to never visit cruel roadside attractions—including Three Bears General Store, where bears are confined 24/7 to a barren concrete pit.

At Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), PETA UK placed a new billboard just a stone’s throw from the campus, warning prospective students that experimenters at the university are tormenting mice in cruel and useless sepsis experiments that consistently fail to lead to effective treatments for humans.
