The Newport City Council meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.  Council Members serve four-year terms and are responsible for adopting ordinances and resolutions, approving the City's budget, establishing policies, and providing overall leadership and direction for the City of Newport.
