  This report aims to find out if difference in language usage across the United States corresponds to difference in geographical region. The linguistic data set contains answers to over a hundred questions about language usage collected from 47,000 respondents through an online questionnaire. With this data set, we hope that the aggregated response to each question will give us information about language usage across the US.

In this paper, I will describe the steps I took in cleaning and exploring the data and present my findings on the differences in temperature and relative humidity between different radial distances from the trunk of a tree. Radial distance is the distance between the trunk and the mote. A mote with 0.1m radial distance is placed right beside the trunk while a mote with 5m radial distance is located further away from the trunk.

• Finding Origin of Replication of CMV DNAs

  To find cure for human cytomegalovirus (CMV), scientists study the way in which the virus replicates. Particularly, they are looking to find the origin of replication in CMV DNA, the site containing instructions for reproduction. Testing all segments of DNA for origin of replication can be very expensive and time consuming, but we can make intelligent guesses using statistical methods

Biologists hypothesize that an unusually dense cluster of palindromes in CMV is a good candidate for origin of replication. This memo explains how to find such DNA segment and show if that segment is likely to arise by chance or not.
