Synergy Codes is a technology company specialized in visual interface systems for products that run on complex logic, real-time data, and dependencies. Founded in 2011 in Wrocław, Poland. We design and build diagram editors, workflow editors, product configurators, and engineering diagram automation — embedded in our clients' products or delivered as standalone applications.     Open a generic diagram tool and draw a schematic. It looks right. But the tool sees only boxes and lines - it has no idea that a wire has to start and end on a pin, or that moving a component should drag its connections along.   That gap is why circuit teams still reach for decade-old desktop software.     The best electrical engineers are getting pulled into data centers. And that's creating a massive talent crunch that nobody planned for. If you're running an engineering team today, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Senior engineers are incredibly hard to find. Yet – even with this talent shortage – most companies still end up using the high-level skills they have left in the most inefficient way possible. ❌ According to industry data, engineers waste up to 40% of their time on repetitive CAD tasks and manual documentation. Essentially, they're acting as the most expensive data-entry clerks – aligning lines and checking labels by hand. Let’s do some quick math on that. 1️⃣ If a senior engineer spends just 6 hours a week fixing, manually redrawing schematics, or copy-pasting data into diagrams, that is roughly $17,000 down the drain per engineer, every single year. 2️⃣ Worse yet, manual entry has an inherent 1% to 5% error rate. In a complex electrical layout, even one mislabeled circuit can trigger premium-rate rework costing thousands per team annually. Those small mistakes compound fast. 3️⃣ Then burnout hits hard. Why?     In engineering, 90% AI accuracy is the exact same thing as 0%. If AI generates an electrical schematic or an AV system design that is 90% correct, an engineer still has to review every single line and connection to catch that hidden 10% error. At that point, the promised productivity gains disappear. Most engineers will tell you it’s faster, safer, and less frustrating to just draw the whole thing manually from scratch. When your name is on the final deliverable, you can't afford to guess. A Director of Electrical Engineering from a US renewables firm told me recently: "AI-generated schematics look almost good, but it's not something you can take responsibility for" Another leader from the AV industry said: "Most of the engineers that I work with are not a fan of the XTEN platform due to AI – it makes wild assumptions and overall just seems more aligned to sales staff rather than engineers" This is exactly why we take a more deterministic approach at Synergy Codes. Yes, we use AI heavily, but we pair it with deterministic algorithms. That's how you get the best of both worlds. AI is fantastic at reading 300-page contracts, specifications, and vendor documentation to find details that a human might miss. But you still need deterministic logic and human oversight to make sure the final technical output is correct.     The way AV systems are designed is quietly changing. Not overnight, not everywhere at once, but clearly enough that it’s worth paying attention to. I go deeper into this shift in my new article that has just been published in AV Magazine: “How modern AV teams left manual schematics behind” A few key takeaways: 1️⃣ The gap is widening Some teams are now designing in days what used to take weeks. They’ve moved past hand-reconciling spreadsheets, drawings, and Bills of Materials, and no longer treat design and install as separate phases held together by emailed PDFs. The difference between these teams and the rest of the market is becoming very visible. 2️⃣ The current toolchain doesn’t fully solve the problem Most AV teams still work across disconnected tools: AutoCAD for schematics, spreadsheets for equipment lists, Word documents for documentation, and email threads tying everything together. While AV-specific platforms bring structure, they force you to adapt to their workflow.
