Congratulations to kyu Collective member Gehl - Making Cities for People, an urban strategy and design consultancy, on breaking ground for Phase 1 of its Dvory Vysočany masterplan in Prague! We look forward to seeing how Gehl’s people-first approach reshapes the Vysočany neighborhood by creating more green space, reducing noise and making room for community life.

Phase 1 of our Dvory Vysočany masterplan is officially under construction! We know that the most critical part of any neighborhood isn't actually the buildings, but the life that happens in and between them. So, in the Dvory Vysočany masterplan, our starting point wasn't the density of the blocks, but the everyday life we wanted the neighborhood to support. 🤝 To invite life back into this industrial footprint, we are reintroducing a courtyard block typology to Prague. Here, the semi-private courtyards function as shared living rooms where local community life can actually thrive. It's also a practical shield: the courtyards and front gardens buffer residents from the noise of a nearby traffic artery, so people can move through green, quiet space instead of alongside a busy road. 🌱 The street network follows the same ‘people-first’ logic. With 90% of the area dedicated to people rather than cars, residents are far more likely to run into and meet each other - the building blocks of a healthy and lasting neighbourhood. At the block edges, the public realm is designed for people to pause and stay, not just pass through. 🌟 Density and design are important in shaping neighbourhoods, but it’s people who ultimately make them great places for communities to thrive. The strategy seems to be paying off at Dvory Vysočany: even the ground floor apartments are proving incredibly popular. 💫 We’re proud to be working together with developer CORWIN and local architecture partner Opočenský Valouch Architekti on this exciting neighbourhood in Prague. Working with developers who share our commitment to human experience, and quality of life and who bring our shared vision to life, is incredibly rewarding. ✨

Yard Agency for NBA 2K For the NBA Summer House in Paris, Yard imagined, conceived and produced the NBA 2K Market, an immersive physical activation designed to translate the codes of the game into a real-world experience. Built as a dedicated NBA 2K space within the wider NBA Summer House, the project took shape as a market-inspired environment and was designed as a full brand immersion where scenography, collectibles, visual details and game references came together to extend the universe of NBA 2K27 beyond the screen. From the storefront to the interior journey, every element was developed to recreate the energy, language and visual culture of NBA 2K in a format that audiences could physically enter, explore and engage with. The space also included a customization area, allowing visitors to personalize pieces such as T-shirts, shorts and caps, turning the experience into something participative and tangible. Developed from ideation to production by Yard, with WWWESH STUDIO™ on scenography and SAINT CHAFFRAY on decoration, the project marked a first strategic milestone in Yard’s broader support of NBA 2K27’s launch in France. One of the greatest strengths of the kyu Collective is our ability to bring diverse perspectives together around our clients’ most important challenges. Last week, Kepler invited kyu Vice Chair and IDEO Chair Emeritus Tim Brown, Kendra Cooke of SYPartners, and Jonathan Meyer of SYLVAIN to share perspectives shaped by their expertise in design, leadership, culture, and brand. The exchange of ideas can unlock new possibilities, reveal unexpected opportunities, and reshape how a challenge is understood. Across kyu, we have an extraordinary breadth of expertise and a collective designed to put it into action. Also featured: Fanny Sun, Kyung Kim, and Jim Halliday
