Stackable instrumentation

Start with eight thermocouple channels. Stack a second module for sixteen. Add analog voltage, vibration or wide-range voltage measurement and they stack too, sharing a single CAN bus. Channel count is limited by CAN bus bandwidth, not by the hardware. Scaling up doesn't mean replacing what you already have.

Sensor measurements are synchronised with vehicle network data on the CAN bus. Compare a thermocouple reading, a vibration spike and an ECU fault code against the exact moment they happened. No stitching separate files. No offset guessing. Just aligned data from the moment it hits the bus.

  • For our research on real driving emissions (RDE) of low-carbon fuels, we use two vehicles: an EURO 6c compliant diesel hybrid (Mercedes C300h) and an EURO 5 gasoline hybrid (Toyota Prius). We require data on various parameters like engine speed, fuel consumption, battery charge, and exhaust temperatures. Our current data loggers couldn't capture all parameters for the Mercedes via the OBD port. Influx Technology intervened, scanning the vehicle to create a custom data logger, enabling us to measure essential parameters for emissions research alongside driving and engine data.

By connecting the datalogger to our diagnostic computer and leveraging the open REXLIBRARY of Influx Technology, we were able to make a custom diagnostic tool that automatically finds the diagnostic fault messages on the CAN bus and correlates it with the accelerometer data. Furthermore the data is exported to a time related database and visualized for easy interpretation by our engineers and the customer.
