Introduction

GNU fdisk provides alternatives to the following programs:

• util-linux fdisk (compatible clone lfdisk, extended clone gfdisk)
• util-linux cfdisk

Note: The standard interface offered via the fdisk link is gfdisk.

In the future it may also offer alternatives to

• util-linux sfdisk
• Apple's mac-fdisk
• FreeBSD fdisk

For a list of supported file systems and partition tables, please see the GNU Parted web site.

If you found a bug, have a suggestion or want to report a generic issue, please use the mailing list.

Downloading

The latest stable version of GNU fdisk can always be found on ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/fdisk.

Mailing lists

There is one mailing list for GNU fdisk:

• bug-fdisk@gnu.org: a public list for bug reporting and development discussion.
  Subscription information and archives are available at http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-fdisk .
