A few old tapes

After making this site, I decided to go looking around for some of the old mixtapes I made ages ago to complete the theme, why not! I used to make a lot of mixtapes up to around 2005, since I didn't have access to a car and was doing a lot of walking. I preferred a Walkman over a Discman for a few reasons, namely that tapes could hold a bit more music (90min compared to 70min) and the Walkman and tapes were durable and relatively small. If I banged my Walkman into something while I was listening to it the tape wouldn't skip or anything, and while sometimes the sound might get distorted, it wouldn't randomly skip tracks like a CD would. When in its case a tape could get tossed around all over the place and it'd be fine.
Eventually I moved up to CDs when I was driving more often, and then to my ipod when I got a car that could do it. These tapes are really a relic of a bygone age, but I know kids these days are into nostalgia and analog sound and what have you, so maybe there'd be some interest in these. If you've gone through some of the other CDs on here, some of these songs will be familiar! They've been around a long time, what can I say.
Since these tapes are so simple, relatively, I decided to just condense them into one page. Write-ups for some songs are probably on some of the other pages, you can take a look around. I used one of those USB cassette converter things and recorded directly off the tapes, so there's some distortion or roughness in places, particularly when the tape begins and ends. Skips in the music are due to whatever CD I was recording off of though. Tapes can't really skip like CDs can, the audio only degrades.
I had a whole series of Randomousity tapes but 5, 7, and 8 were the only ones I could find. 5 is odd since it starts off on a more down note and then gets up-beat, which is the inverse of how it usually went with these.

It actually took me a while to even read the label on this tape, it was so damaged. I have no idea what happened to it! All I could really read clearly was a back label that said BACON BITS. Eventually I reasoned it had to have something with numbers and I could finally pick something out.
I liked this tape a lot, it had Move Your Dead Bones on it! I remember listening to it a lot while thinking about my flash video... it also reminds me a lot of when I was writing earlier parts of Vargas. Some parts of it are definitely more degraded than others though.

Found this one lying around, not sure who recorded it! It has a few songs off of Power 106 FM from the DJ chatter. Audio quality is pretty rough but it is listenable.

I have no idea why Silent Lucidity is on there four times in a row??? I cut it down to just one though.
This one has such a serious sounding title but it's just normal music! I'm not sure why I was so insistent that it only be for the car. This was before I had the internet so all these songs are recorded off of the actual CDs, haha. I didn't have that many at the time...
A rare mix where you could probably listen to it with normal people and they won't look at you too weird. Well, aside from the Cats tracks and Weird Al.

I wonder why the Cats songs are scattered through it so randomly...?
I barely have any memory of this tape, but I think I know how it came about! What I think happened is that I wanted to make Sheena (my cousin) a tape with the music I had at my house that she didn't have, so I think we sat together and she picked the songs she wanted on the tape. It's not finished though, there are only a handful of songs. Maybe we got interrupted or she had to go home? I guess we never got around to completing it. That seems like the most likely scenario to me, anyway.
