Boot Security **Mastery Conference**

Vision

From the homelab of a privacy-focused admin to the high assurance of hyperscaler core infrastructure, we want to discuss the foundation of trustworthy, owner‑controlled, confidential, and verifiable computing.

Our focus is the boot chain: from owner‑controlled roots and chains of trust and decentralized reproducible builds with bootstrappable toolchains, through key boot-chain components for x86, ARM, POWER, and RISC‑V, ending with the handoff to OS-maintained bootloaders or the OS itself. We believe boot-chain components are foundational blocks of sovereign digital infrastructure.

This cannot be established without a diverse spectrum of contributors, and that’s why we welcome sponsors, speakers, and attendees at all levels of contribution from the community, SMEs, OEMs/ODMs, IBVs, researchers, hyperscalers, and the public sector. We want to build a community that will consider multi‑stakeholder perspectives on boot‑chain security.

Before the main conference, we will host dedicated pre‑conference training days focused purely on education for practitioners. These hands‑on trainings are aimed at developers, platform and firmware engineers, and security engineers who implement security measures in the boot chain, provision and manage roots of trust, evaluate and harden boot flows, and manage chains of trust at the boot‑chain level. Participants will work with real tooling and platforms to learn how to design, deploy, and verify secure, owner‑controlled boot‑chain architectures in practice.

Conference format

The Boot Security Mastery Conference is structured as a five-day event combining practical education with industry knowledge exchange.

Days 1–3: Hands-on Training Three intensive training days focused on practical boot security engineering. Sessions will cover firmware development, roots of trust, secure provisioning, measured and verified boot, platform hardening, and real-world debugging workflows.

Day 4-5: Main Conference The full conference days featuring technical talks, case studies, research presentations, ecosystem updates, and panel discussions with experts from industry, academia, and the open-source community.

Additional informal networking activities and community meetups will be organized throughout the week.

Training Sessions

The optional training sessions scheduled for Days 1–3 were introduced in response to repeated requests from customers, partners, and community members seeking dedicated boot security education in both individual and group formats.

Organizations interested in private team training, as well as individuals who previously expressed interest directly or indirectly, will be informed as soon as training registration opens.

Additional details, formats, and schedules will be announced soon.

Date & Place

The Boot Security Mastery Conference will be held on September 21–25, 2026, at Gdański Park Naukowo-Technologiczny (GPN-T) in Gdańsk, Poland.

Set on the Baltic Sea coast, Gdańsk combines world-class history, modern infrastructure, and one of the most attractive urban destinations in Central Europe, making it an ideal setting for a technical conference and international networking.

The week includes three days of hands-on training, followed by two conference days dedicated to talks, workshops, and real-world boot security.

If you’re attending OSFC in Amsterdam the previous week, extend your Europe trip and join the Boot Security Mastery Conference right after. It’s a practical way for guests traveling from outside Europe to combine two high-value events in one journey: broad Open Source firmware discussions at OSFC, followed by focused boot security expertise, training, and hands-on sessions in Gdańsk. Amsterdam and Gdańsk are well connected by short direct flights, making travel between both cities easy and convenient.

Further event details coming soon.

Please note:

  • Registration is mandatory - without a ticket, you will not be able to join the discussion space.
  • The stream will remain open to the public, and we strongly encourage most viewers to use the stream unless they intend to actively participate in the conversation.
  • Only presenters and actively engaged participants should join via Jitsi. All others are welcome to follow the event via the live stream as audience members.

Help us keep the discussion focused, and the experience smooth, by choosing the format that best fits your level of engagement.
