Roving ambassadors
Roving Ambassadors perform their duties from the Foreign Ministry in Helsinki, acting as diplomatic representatives of Finland in countries within their area of responsibility. They handle an agreed portion of the duties of the Finnish embassies.
Roving Ambassadors work under the direction of the Secretary of State and in cooperation with the relevant divisions and units that handle relations with the regions for which they are responsible.
The roving ambassadors are responsible for maintaining and promoting the political, commercial and cultural relations between Finland and these countries. They present Finland’s positions to decision makers and communicate information about the region to Finland.
They also try to help Finnish companies in accessing the markets of the countries of the region.

Roving Ambassador to the South Caucasus
The Roving Ambassador to the South Caucasus is represented from Helsinki. There are no Finnish missions in the countries of the region.
In an emergency, Finnish citizens can turn to the missions of other EU Member States or Nordic countries.
