  The incident with Shoffi made me question if I ever want to trust partner data to any third party service at all. Mantle was a provider I could trust both team competencies and don’t worry about competition. Now I have to own all layers, from analytics to affiliates to be safe.

  I wish Shopify partner API had better permissions system. Most systems need read only access for analytics. But we have only “Manage apps” permission which also exposes subscription cancelation and app credits feature.

  Just finished migrating my databases from Crunchy to PlanetScale with pgcopydb (minimal downtime). Few tips: - Temporarily upsized both source and target (makes things faster) - Capped TABLE_JOBS / INDEX_JOBS to the smaller instance (defaults are too high) - Removed extensions

  I came to my first Shopify DotDev worrying about competition, the future with AI, and platform changes. I'm leaving very inspired - with a huge list of things to build and try this year. Sidekiq extension is #1 in that list. Thank you Shopify and everyone I met here! 💚
