  I love how the Shire-Reckoning account not only reminds me of what happened on this day in Middle-earth, but gives context — in LotR, the main narrative never mentions how long it’s been since the Nazgûl have ridden to the west of the River Isen!

  Maybe this won’t ever be useful to anyone else! But just in case, here’s a package that does a trick: it can rewrite Python bytecode so assert statements support introspection—so "a != b" reports something like "2 != 3" instead of just "AssertionError".
