  New blogpost, a follow-up to "Hoistable SVG Defs in React" You can hand createPortal a plain JS object pretending to be a DOM node, and react-dom will happily call appendChild on it at every commit. React Aria uses this for Collections. We can use that to dedupe SVG defs too.
