This isn't ranked I fear but

I talked about the return before but I genuienly do love the timeness/stagnation of it all. There's something so ghostly about the whole movie, it feels like coming home to a ghost town. I appreciate it drawing inspiration from veteran testimonies and the emphasis on the war/how it leaves no one unscathed. The horse vomiting out soldiers is a quote/image that stays in my mind a lot

Nolan's odyssey also tries to touch on the war leaving everything unscathed (though less successfully, imo) but I do like the inclusion of zeus' law and how the breaking of it forever changes his relationship with athena, himself, his home, and the world around him. I also like the bow plucking motif

I don't remember as much from Wilson's translation because I've only read it once, but it is very fun to me. It's very concise and witty in how it talks about odysseus and I like it a lot. That's him..my lord of lies... Also her touching on the hanged women! And how she talks about her translation and how it deals with the tackling of the slave women in general

Fagles is my favorite translation purely for that one scene of him and Athena and how fond she sounds of him (we're old hands at this etc). But also I really like that there's a violence in his Iliad that you don't see much in his Odyssey up until the massacre in the hall

Epic starting out with astyanax's murder is my favorite thing about it. I like that it tries to give the crew more of a voice (something i liked in odyssey 1997) and I do like that anticlea is brought up, which i don't see a lot of more recent adaptions do

L'Odisea 1968 my love my goat. Very poem accurate, Irene papas is gorgeous as always, and they give penelope an anger I loved seeing, and I liked the representation of the gods as statues. Also they show me so much of Odysseus' thighs I feel so indulged

Odyssey 1997 Odysseus makes this one very specific face while on Calypso's island that I think about all the time. Also his boobs are massive in that movie. I liked the transition to old man in the bow stringing scene it was really good. Also! That one scene where Odysseeus talks about penelope having gone grey, and so will he, and gleefully talking about how they will grow old together! So sweet!

Not As accurate lol but The Golden Apple is very fun to me just to listen to. There's a song Odysseus sings about getting a new suit and it is so silly. Also! Also. They have a song called "It's the Going Home Together" that gets brought back at the end as "It's the Coming Home Together" and aughh where they talk about missing the domestic parts of their life the most like talking about the weather
