Rahoul Baruah - what a handsome man — Rahoul Baruah (aka Baz) - a stunningly handsome middle aged man with a big smile and big hair.

§ 01Who are you?

Well, I’m Baz AKA Rahoul Baruah and I’m a rubyist.

That means I write software, which I’ve been doing professionally since 2005.

Rubyists are generally regarded, by other software developers, as a bit weird. I think this is a good thing.

We like our code to look just right, because if we put care and attention into the code, we’ll build amazing apps and, most importantly, our clients will see some fantastic results.

As for me, I’ve done the startup thing, I’ve been employed, I’ve managed teams and I’ve been a freelancer. My company is called EchoDeknamed after an obscure album where I built custom apps for tiny companies.

I’m also currently the Chief Technical Officer at Collabor8Online - we build specialist software for the construction industry. We’re really nice people too.

§ 02So what's going on here then?

This is where I write out my thoughts - especially about coding (and now large language models as they are taking over my profession).

I hope others will find it useful. It certainly is to me - when I’m learning something new, the best way to figure it out is to write about it.
