I have been a local GP for 30 years and chair the Stroud Locality NHS. In my time as a GP, I have first-hand experience of how disparities in income affect peoples’ lives. In Stroud, the wealthiest people live, on average, more than nine years longer than the poorest. The solution to this isn’t medical – it’s political.

Since having been elected to Parliament in 2024 I have been championing causes close to my heart such as rebuilding our NHS, meeting our climate commitments and supporting local services. I sit on a number of All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs), and am Chair of the groups on Health, Beyond Pills, and Creative Health. I am also the Vice-Chair of the Net Zero APPG.

I continue to practice as a GP when time allows.
