IndieWeb
Looking to escape the bad web? Y’know the one stuffed to the brim with bots and slop? You’re in luck, a better web still exists—it may seem boring, but at least it’s human. Beauty to be found and seen.
You can not only visit the better web, but become a part of it too. It really doesn’t cost much! It’s a place you can be yourself, but in web-form. It can be as easy as just sharing the things you love—in a blog post, in a photo gallery, you get to choose. There’s no right or wrong way really. If it sparks joy, why not tell everyone about it? You may be surprised who’s interested in hearing what you have to say, and you’ll be making the web a richer place along the way.
So get out there and explore! The IndieWeb is a more lively place than you might expect. Share all the exquistely random things you encounter. Finally… remember to RSS!! Your site should have an RSS feed, you should find and subscribe to other site’s RSS feeds (you’ll need an RSS aggregator/client). RSS all the things! RSS is in many ways what makes all of this work, so just do it.

Fediverse
Just a handful of Fedi-gifties this week. We’ve got a (human curated) list of Mastodon Resources, tooling for Mastodon full-text search, and the Fediverse now has classifieds. 🤗
Cybersecurity
Do you hear that? The calm crackling of the Internet aflame? Kinda peaceful isn’t it? Sit and stay awhile, there’s plenty of fuel for the fire. 🔥
We can toast a marshmallow in honor of the things we’ve lost.
But for all things lost, we often find new life—growth on the web and in the infosec world. The Crow’s Nest is streaming a roundup of infosec news, Andrew has ideas on package manager threat models, IFIN is doin’ some neat CTI (let’s call it “Community” Threat Intelligence), Cisco has published their AI BOM tool for producing an AI Bill of Materials, and OWASP has dropped their Autonomous Penetration Testing Standard.
