I’ve got ~4 months of leave coming up and am mentally lining up how I would like to spend it and what (if anything) I could attempt to accomplish given I have the time. Here’s what I got…

  • Bonding with my daughter (this is of course the primary objective for parental leave).

  • Podcast reboot - The Shellsharks Podcast is coming back! Thinking of how I want to structure this next season.

  • Cooking - There’s a few things I would like to learn to cook…
    • Home-made pasta sauce & pasta (noodles)
    • Some sort of delicous bean soup
    • Tweak my chili recipe

  • Blog/Site upgrades - I have a number of things I’d like to add to the blog.

  • “Work 2.0” - Basically, I want to put some thought into a bunch of things related to my career and money-making in general. How can I monetize my side projects (i.e. podcast, blog, etc…), what do I want to do work-wise in the next 1, 3, 5, even 10 years? This sort of stuff.

  • Gaming - I have recently started to get back into gaming a bit. Here’s some things I’m thinking about playing over the break…
    • the “classics”, i.e. some NES / SNES / N64 titles that I love
    • Baldur’s Gate 3
    • Breath of the Wild
    • (old-school) Ultima Online (w/ friends)

  • Basketball - I plan on taking my talents to a different gym to play bball now that Lifetime has gone “full pickleball”.

  • Weight-lifting - I’ve been lifting since October of last year and want to keep up the pace!

  • Cleaning the house - My wife insisted I put this on the list.
