There may still be time to bounce back?

Introduction

December was a very slow month for me, considering that I only now get proper peace in my mind after a year of anxiety, failed projects, and what not. So much so that I actually forgot if I actually did anything this month.

Graduate project

It was originally meant to release this month, but I decided to delay it and release it as part of interactive fiction event sometime in 2025. This is in part due to me wanting more time really flesh it out and not rush a majority of it like I did with my other IF projects.

I haven't made much progress since November since my mind has been all over the place this month. I was originally planning on this to have more in terms of choices, but I will need to actually plan that out first, and possibly cut back on that because the scope isn't neccessarily compatible with the idea that I have in mind.

With that, I will now have two projects to deal with early next year, so until then, it is probably best to spend my creative time on milk game and one of the novel ideas that I have been in my mind for a while.

IGM Games

I showed some unreleased milk game stuff on my first date, but I didn't actually work on Revamped or anything related to it. Eventually, I will need to compile the teasers and make a post about it since there isn't much left I think to tease (unless I end up figuring out more stuff to tease while I work on it).

I did work on the IGM Games Archive site for the first time in months, and finally got around to updating the CSS by using a new pre-made layout (spoilers: a nomnomnami layout). It is mostly the same structure wise since 1) I assume most people are already familiar with it how it looks and I wanted to keep it similar and 2) the layout used is still based on the sadgrl layout to an extent, but it does make it more interesting to look at especially since I have realized after making the site that the sadgrl layout is actually very common. I did need to do some work to make sure it was that way without needing to make major changes to pages. A lot of old code was just forced into the new one and then changes were made to make sure the acted like before and the colors were changed to remain the same. Otherwise, this was a mostly seemless process.

While I was messing with CSS, I did also fix the mobile scaling issues, mainly with images and columns being too wide. I did this by making new code that would affect those boxes should they be too big on the screen. The guide page is still broken on mobile, but every other page should now work.

Sneak peak even though this will likely release this week.

Site Reviews

Roblox Winter Spotlight was the quickest to finish out of all of the reviews so far, and part of it is probably because I had not much else to do. I expect this will probably be the outlier in that regard for a while.

There's also the 2024 games post that I start writing after this and the Starry Flowers review that I didn't work on, but will once I finish the annual new years post. I plan on putting less focus on reviews in 2025 and moving it towards other forms of writing, since that's been an issue this year that needs addressing. There will still be reviews or review-like posts (Grim), but likely not 7 of them and certainly not all Roblox.

I guess I did also cover the Sonic movies in Winter Spotlight, but I don't consider that a traditional review. I mentioned before that I was originally planning in The Games review where I would review a visual novel as a joke and then disqualify it because it wasn't a Roblox game, but I ended up not doing that because there wasn't really a place for it. That bit would of likely ended up removed had it been done though since the developer of said vn would of not approved of it and I would rather not disrespect them. I guess this will be the closest I get to that for the time being.

Conclusion

Well, January will mostly be Milk Game Revamped, one of my creative novel ideas, and the Graduate project until I end up in another game jam.

See you all in a moment.
