Robinhood Crypto Trading API

The Robinhood Crypto Trading API lets you view crypto market data, access your account information, and place crypto orders programmatically. It’s available to Robinhood Crypto customers in the United States.

There are 2 versions of the Robinhood Crypto Trading API. With v2, customers in eligible jurisdictions can trade with fee tiers via the API action Place crypto orders with fee tiers. Fee tiers are based on eligible 30-day trading volume. Review Crypto fee tiers to learn about eligible volume, tier upgrades, and more. You can also find the latest rates in our Fee Schedule.

While v1 of the API only supports non-fee tier orders via the API action Place crypto orders without fee tiers, all other read-only actions are available on both v1 and v2. This includes:

  • Read crypto accounts
  • Read crypto holdings
  • Read crypto orders
  • Read crypto products
  • Read crypto quotes

To access the Robinhood Crypto Trading API, you’ll first create API credentials, which generate an API key and define the actions it can perform. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Sign in to web classic and go to your crypto account settings
  2. Select Add key
  3. Select the specific API actions you want to enable

Once you’ve created a key, you can use it to authenticate requests to the Robinhood Crypto Trading API. Review our API documentation to get started.

Why isn’t my API trading volume counting toward my fee tier?

Only crypto orders placed through the v2 endpoint, Place crypto orders with fee tiers, count toward your eligible 30-day trading volume. Orders placed through the v1 endpoint, Place crypto orders without fee tiers, do not. For more information on fee tiers and eligible trading volume, check out Crypto fee tiers.

How long will the v1 API be supported?

Currently, there is no deprecation timeline for v1. If API support changes, we’ll let you know.
