I wrote another behind-the-scenes post to The Backstairs Tone supporting members. It was about struggles and little wins with music for stage piece 'Declarations' (J. Tannahil) in the works by Maja. And some rambling about recent DJ sets.

I also wrote The Irregular Broadcast newsletter after 6 months. While The Backstairs Tone is amembership project, this one is a free update on gigs, releases and similar sent out every few months. This time I wrote about the Lubricate Me video, forthcoming dates, overwhelming amount of top-priority projects, and new Atom/RSS feature of my homepage.

Yes, I finally added RSS/Atom feed to my little webpage php script. Yes, I wrote it myself. It looks at all the readme.md files in subfoldets
/log/folder and carves out an XML-formated atom file (it validates!) This is now part of the radical autonomous web set of channels: homepage, mailing list, rss feed, membership project - all self-hosted. This RSS and knowing some people are (getting) subscribed to it is also a motivation to write first weeknote of the year (in May!). -
My father had a birthday at the end of January and I bought him a printer as a gift. He opened it and setup (hardware) by himself (it's a Brother printer with refillable cartridges)but somehow it failed to work on his new Linux laptop. I tried hard remotely (via RustDesk) but failed so he brought it to my house. After weeks of waiting in the corner I managed to connect it (usb) and install proper drivers. It works and I experimented a little and it does some quality printing. Unfortunately it's not equipped with wifi or network (utp). Father brought his laptop and I jnstalled everything so it worked. He picked it up and took it home (he lives in a remote village), but it doesn't work now. Tried via RustDesk, but to no avail. I'm now thinking to order some Canon wifi-enabled one for him.

I ordered some new hardware for upcoming creative projects. My dream is a self-contained touch screen-based custom hardware-software system for electronic music audio-visual just-in-time composition and improvisation. There's more hardware to it, but the core of it is a touchscreen laptop and external GPU. I had my ThinkPad X1 for about 7 years now and while it's perfectly fine (apart from dysfunctional soundcard) I'm getting a 2-in-1 X1 Thinkpad because of the touchscreen. And: an external thunderbolt-to-ePCI already arrived. All I need now is a power unit and an actual GPU from an older workstation (and an enclosure of some type at some point). Also hw-wise: a successful ongoing research into (4) tiny wireless RPI Zero-based speakers for the stage thanks to J. Plan is to run SuperCollider on them via network.

The spring polen has hit my eyes already about a week ago, and I felt it more pronounced today. I've been at control exam at my ORL (nasal eyes ears doctor) and got some more medicines including antihistamines. A. suggested next year I should plan a Malta getaway in May.
