Spice

One of two InsteRail attendants, and a master of spatial magic. A bit of an airhead, but her heart is filled with love for her girlfriend.

the witch version of Space from her tears were my light. she appears in Lonely Wolf Treat, Syrup 2, and another piece of candy. as a witch, she runs the InsteRail, which acts as a convenient portal connecting places all over the world (and even goes to the netherworld!)

she was designed with witch thyme on 3/31/2016 (the day after her tears were my light released!), so that i'd be able to include her in the next chapter of LWT (which i guess i started working on a week later...? woah)

personality

very friendly and smiles a lot. often seems not to have a care in the world. her hobbies are sewing and doll-making.

she will often space out as a consequence of thyme's magic (at least that's how it is in another piece of candy haha). there are many versions of space, and she has a vague awareness of them all, which is a little overwhemling for her witch brain.

relationships

FRIENDLY

Thyme (partner): relies a lot on thyme, who is much more organized than she is. (sorry i know i should write more than this but what do you want me to say, they are deeply in love)
Nil (alternate self): they're not often in the same place at once, but spice carries around a doll she made that looks like nil to always keep her in her heart.
Syrup: syrup will make sweets for her at thyme's request, which spice loves. she thinks syrup is really cool, and that it's nice thyme has another friend to hang out with every now and then.
Gumdrop: spice is a huge fan of dolls, which golems technically are... she wants to dress gumdrop up in cute outfits, but she's holding back.
Twigs: spice helped them out when they first moved to glaze. they always say hi to each other whenever twigs uses the insterail now (which in canon is not very often, but that's ok)

NEUTRAL

Lime: lime once told thyme and spice and upsetting fortune concerning nil, which made spice cry... she doesn't like to hold grudges though, and believes it must have just been some kind of misunderstanding.

story

this is explained in another piece of candy (of all things), but the reason space became the witch spice is because her and time went through a portal together to be reborn as witches, forgetting their previous life as godlike entities.

nil couldn't make it through the portal due to her being the sort of avatar of nonexistence, so only nil remembers who time and space really are and has to remind their witch versions once she's able to join them in their new world.

in the meantime, spice grew up as a normal girl, then eventually reunited with thyme when they were teenagers. they started dating in middle school or high school or something (i don't have the timeline for this solidly established but they've been together for a while!)

now they work at the insterail together... but they've sort of always run that thing, in a time paradox-y sort of way. they are the eternal timespace gfs!!!

her tears were my light

space wakes up alone in a void. not knowing what's going on, and wishing someone would come, she starts crying tears that turn into stars which light up the universe. time follows these stars to find space, and timeloop shenanigans ensue as the dark version of space, nil, continues to erase her in order to keep time to herself.

in space's ending, they tell nil to go away and time stays with space in a world of pure light. but in the true ending, it's revealed that nil was the original version of space who burnt out and became the concept of nothingness... time convinces nil to coexist with space, which leads to the universe as we know it! happily ever after~
