I occasionally use Slack Reminders for this too, usually to remind myself of things that come through in the evening. This works well, but I feel like Slack is trying to turn them into a TODO list in it’s own right. Worse is better here, Slack. Treat them like alerts I simply need to acknowledge.
I don’t know when I started doing this, but I’ve gotten into the habit of writing out daily TODOs at the start of the work day. It works quite well: the day turns into “what’s the next thing?” rather than finding work to do. Of course, priorities change and I don’t always get through them all.

Flights, accomodation, and transport for my upcoming trip have been booked. A few minor things remain but the “big three” is now done. That passport will get its metaphorical (if not literal, but unlikely) stamp this year.
