Versions 2.2 and 2.5 require an Activation Key but the cracks remove this requirement. Version 2.0.2 does not require an Activation Key and so does not require a crack.

I recommend disconnecting from the Internet before you click "Register" otherwise the application will attempt to connect to the defunct registration server (eSellerate). You can reconnect afterwards and you will remain registered. However, even if you are connected to the Internet when you try to register, it is OK...the app will seem to freeze but will give up eventually and proceed.

Scrivener has hit version 3 a long time ago, rendering old versions as unsupported. According to the author's website, Scrivener 2.9 is a version that does not have any serial/web activation protection when executed on old versions of OS X from 10.6 to 10.11.

If you upgrade from El Capitan to a modern version of OS X with Scrivener 2.9, serial protection gets activated again. Please consider this beforehand.

In addition, please refrain from uploading modern V3 versions of Scrivener unless it reaches EOL.
