Lowkey Party

"Going thirty-eight Dan, chill the fuck out, mow your damn lawn and sit the hell down"

I made my first test zine

Now I just need to keep going.

I had some time to myself this evening, so decided that instead of distracting myself with a screen, I should do something purposeful with a screen.

I have seen the small folded line from an A4 page a few times, and decided that's what I would do.

But about what?

I decided that I have enough images I'll just grab some and lay them out and see what happens. I had the ones from my 2018 trip to Hawaii handy and so placed a few about in Scribus and hit print.

Well, after a few prior steps. I set up guide lines, and worked out how to rotate content 180° for the folded over half. Then printed.

And I think ot didnt turn out too bad for a first stab.

And the A4 page this was folded from:

I think the zine format would lend itself to black and white dithered images, so I'll have to look into how to do that and if it will even work with the images I take...

So I guess I need to print more and see what I like.
