I.A.
Last updated:This is still in draft
A.I. is not so interesting, beyond concerns about its detriments (fake news, dead internet theory, etc.). When it comes to computing technology, the more interesting thing is I.A., Intelligence Amplification. We have cars to move us places much faster and farther than we can travel with our own legs or a tamed beast's. We have power tools to manipulate raw materials faster and more accurately than with our hand tools. Photographs capture a moment more accurately than our mind. Books capture our thoughts, and allow us to disseminate them consistently and to a wider audicence than merely our speech. So what do computers enhance?
Surely you've anticipated the punch line; they enhance our intelligence. Or, they can be made to do so.
