Dot Dot Dot...
Last updated:I need to use Microsoft Teams at work. To say it is a pile of crap is an insult to feces. Lest I stay up all night writing my complaints about it, I shall focus on just one aspect, its overuse of ellipsis (…) everywhere to hide additonal actions. Including those in Edge, which I must also use as my company does not allow me to use the web app version of Teams for Linux, I have eleven (11) ellipsis visible when I log into Teams.
This is on a 27" 4k monitor, full screen. One of three. To say they're not making efficient use of real estate is the understatement of the year. Sadly, this is the general trend in computing. Everything is going the way of the mobile OS. Burger menus, three dots, nine dots, whatever. Regular drop down menus at the top of the window? Pssshhh, for get those! Mobile is the new desktop. Gotta keep those widgets far apart for sausage fingers to poke at.
GTK+ and Gnome are on the same trajectory, sadly. If I ever see burger menus in my FOSS programs, I uninstall that crap faster than you can say "Anbesol."
