My favourite films for October

Here’s a quick list of some of my favourite films to watch during this, the most spooky of seasons (in no particular order):

• Fear Street (Part One, Part Two, Part Three) - an excellent slasher trilogy, released simultaneously on Netflix
• Killer Klowns from Outer Space - So bad, so fun
• Halloween (1978) - Requires no explanation
• Grave Encounters - Probably my favourite found-footage film, a touch dated now but still creepy
• Haunt - Taking a common formula and just doing it really well
• Evil Dead II
• Talk To Me - I actually struggled to sleep after this
• Trick 'r Treat - Halloween-themed anthology film with some excellent segments
• Halloweentown - Surprisingly well-done for a Disney Channel movie, an annual staple in our house
• The Haunting of Hill House - Okay, not a film, but some of the most expertly-crafted horror I’ve ever watched
