date: mid-may (free-threading push)
wanted:
- pandas-3 everywhere
- streamlit and numba on free-threading
- Python-3.14 slim version 100% complete (as "deap" wheel arrived)
- pylock.toml as the standard way to build with pip, requirement files still published this cycle
- Python-3.14.5 free-threading complete at 90%
- Python-3.15.0b1
- simplifying rc -> final process: rc published as if it will be final.
remark:
- scientific community effort is on:
- free-threading stable abi3t for 3.15 beta1
- numpy-2.5 to be 5% more performant for free-threading than for multi-processing
- python-3.15 speed-up hopes:
- lazy imports
- 10% with tail call for 3.15 windows
- 10% with JIT and internals
- 200% with free-threading: 3x for parallelised loads
