We’re @cwervo & @osnr -- we work on the Folk physical computing system.
Some of the things we're looking into:
- Folk programming language and runtime
- how to mount ≤5 lb. projectors arbitrarily (e.g. above your desk, in your kitchen, or above your bed)
- using computer vision to do millimeter-accurate 3D projector calibration & mapping (going beyond pieces of paper on table plane)
- projected preview of what lines a CNC machine will cut on the material on its bed
- portable projector+camera+computer gadget that you can pick up and use like a barcode scanner to augment and reprogram things
- how to localize RFID tags with very high accuracy and low latency & use that capability to build new computer interactions
- hybrid physical/digital applications (whiteboard calendar… physical website…)
- new modes of perception (segmentation, handwriting recognition) to integrate into the Folk system
