Ran `pre-commit run --all-files --hook-stage manual` and this ran prettier.
We had a Markdown table reformated and an backslash escape added.
A link was also fixed.
Tested both the standard and manual hooks pass

Hello @jbampton, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request focuses on enhancing the project's documentation by addressing minor inconsistencies and errors. • Markdown Formatting Correction: Added a backslash escape to an asterisk in NEWS.md to ensure correct Markdown rendering of a commit message description.
  • Markdown Table Reformatting: Adjusted the column widths of a Markdown table in mrbgems/mruby-bin-debugger/README.md for improved and consistent formatting.
  • Pre-commit Hook Validation: Confirmed that both standard and manual pre-commit hooks pass after these documentation changes.
