Building a FPGA stereo depth camera targeting ISO 13849 PLd Cat 3 for collaborative robotics. Custom SGM in Verilog on AMD K26.

Building Phaestus on the side. A compiler for physical products. Block library, parametric enclosures, manufacturing files. First fabricated board came back in February 2026. Currently growing the block library and chasing a phone-in-five-minutes demo.

Background is sport science. Got into embedded by accident in 2014. Self-taught from there.

Occasional things that escaped onto the internet:

  • KiDoom, ScopeDoom, OpenSCAD-DOOM. Hit Hacker News a few times, plus media coverage.
  • search-bench. RAG benchmark for coding agents.
  • TOKN. Schematic compression format, 92% token reduction.
  • CircuitSnips 4,300 KiCad subcircuits, indexed and searchable.
