Summer (continued)
I have been postponing every monthly journal lately as I have simple kept myself (too) busy to finish a journal entry. I still love doing them, it is important for me to finish these so I can get a look back on what I have been doing :) So this for for july and august.
thieves
Had a break in, the basement. The whole place had been completely flipped upside down and was a crazy mess. Very distressing to see.. They stole for quite a bit of shit, some could be covered by insurance but the self-risk took quite a bit off unfortunately. Few bags with contents and all my vinyls.
Super annoying and since then I have developed a kind of anxiety/paranoia with sounds during night that "sounds" like people fumbling with doors. It will be alright, I just need some time to recover - But it just sucks as there is a bunch of homeless people in the area, they tend to scout our trash and walk into our private courtyard. I don't want to blame them as they might just be doing their own shit, but it just sucks as it could literally be anyone :s
vacation
July 14-27 went on camper van trip to Jutland, in my very own country?! this would have been unheard of if you asked me a year or two ago. I have never really been interested in travelling much in Denmark, mostly because I felt like I had seen what I needed to seen. But you know.. I wanted to disprove that and give Jutland a-go.
It was nice! Denmark is like prime camping country. The laws are pretty loose and there are no strict requirements regarding setting up camper wherever. You can't do it everywhere, but I would also say it is pretty easy regardless.

Started from Kerteminde and went all around the east coast of Jutland. We had some incredible camping spots such as Vejers Strand Camping and Kattegat Strand Camping.
Loved seeing the rolling hills of east coast, and then moving day-by-day up towards Grenen.

Feel like I can fully recommend to check out Jutland. It has much more diverse geographic locations compared to Sjælland. I feel like I have much more to see, so I will slowly be building a list for another trip!
Also, 35mm photos!

Side note: I was chilling around Vejer Strand and I could hear this low-humming sounds that reminded me of helicopters.. But I couldn't see any... I was later walking around, going to the beach, only to realise the sounds was coming from there. As I get over the beach hills I suddenly see a bunch of military vehicles driving around. I got straight into little boy excitement and went down there to take pictures and check them out - VERY COOL!

In august I went on a secondary camper van 3- day trip with my sister. Just before going we went go karting with some of her friends, loved it!!!
We drove to Svendborg (among other places) and suddenly remembere Cykeltutten as located there so I took the chance to finally visit it. A volunteered showed me around and talked about how it all worked - was fantastic to hear and they had so many volunteers, sort of older looking, which I thought was really cool. They have A LOT more space than our bikelab and more tools. One thing I particular liked was they had a big box of "funny" bikes that kids were driving around on, on the harbour. They had a double-decker bike which I got to ride. First try!!!

bike kitchen gardening
Hosted several bike kitchens.. Has been a pleasure. But there are also other things that are starting to need priority which is taking up more of my time..
We got support from Amager Øst Lokaludvalg with some money in order to paint our containers. They look like garbage due to graffiti and just not as welcome as we would like.

Much of the street we are placed on has gotten great support in terms of artist making murals and we wanna see if can get up to that standard. So we are trying to figure out what to do - together with just general maintenance since the roof is slowly rusting away :(
I ended up having to do a bunch of gardening around the containers in order to remove the weeds such they are not in the way when we start painting. It felt very rewarding to do - especially after getting the right equipment!

whats brewing
During one of the bikelab openings days I went by the local barista to get myself one of their ice latte. I never had one of them but he quickly stirred one together for me. I was blown away, SO nice and cold on the hot summer day. I thought for a moment "hey that cant be so hard to do" so when i got home a put together a cold brew for the night. Next day I made a whole mess in the kitchen trying to filter out all the coffee.

It was a mess, but I had it through. Brought it to bikelab next day to offer to everyone. Super good but was missing the secret ingredient: Vanilla Syrup!
Little bit later into the journey, I got together with a co-worker to do a mix ourselves. We ended up making two batches comparing different grain sizes. Super fun to offer everyone at work with some delicious ice latte :D
For some time now I have also been missing doing kombucha. Recently bought a new scopy and started a batch but it ended up developing mold :[
