Snakes snakes snakes, a week note
I’ve been working on an ill advised project. This project will have to be done in many parts. Part one of many is done, and I’m debating if I should share it, or if I should wait to get the whole thing done. But now, a smash cut…I started this post off as a normal post, but now that it is an RSS sickos only post…
Check this shit out! I recently read about the $1 unistroke recognizer, and predictably, had to try to implement my own. …but an issue arose…I needed a way to put a dictionary of strokes that translate to letters into it, so, I made a training mode, so now I have this kinda nice and easy way to define my own strokes and map them to characters. Many other plans are blooming now that this tool (mostly) works.
I updated my sometimes updated wiki entry that suggests a mental model for how to think about screen readers. This is becoming relevant at my work, which is lovely because I do really like doing and being able to do accessibility work.
Protected work thoughts follow:
…work, though, is in a whole…lets call it a “thing” right now. A thing at so many scales, levels, and volumes. One day I hope to have a job that I can enjoy doing without also constantly worrying that I’m gonna be told to not do it, not get paid, and have my whole family not have health insurance all of the sudden. Sucks.
Happy Valentine’s Day you beautiful RSS sickos. I love you.
