sticky

🌱 This post is in the growth phase. It may still be useful as it grows up.

“Sticky” is a compliment in product.
It means users can’t leave.

But from the user’s side, sticky is just a nice word for trapped.

Anthropic blocks OpenCode. They block OpenClaw.
Claude Code is their sticky product and they don’t want you getting that sticky feeling with another harness.

I get it. I’ve worked in product.
But I’ve also been the user who built too much on one thing and couldn’t walk away.

The opposite of sticky isn’t disloyal.
It’s portable.
