The provider uses the log data only for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operation, security and optimization of the offer. However, the provider reserves the right to retrospectively check the log data if, based on concrete evidence, there is a justified suspicion of illegal use.

The software distributed here is licensed by the Mozilla public license. Note that this license excludes warranty of any kind.

No data is submitted to Betterbird, some data may be submitted to Mozilla. No telemetry and no crash reports are submitted, however, add-on updates and blocklists are downloaded from Mozilla sites. UPDATE MARCH 2025: There has been some confusion about Mozilla's new "Firefox Terms of Use" which refer to (quote) content you input.

Betterbird only transmits the content of e-mail you send (input) or receive to your configured outgoing or incoming mail servers, not to Betterbird or Mozilla servers or any other unrelated external server, neither in full nor in processed, analysed, extracted, summarised or aggregated form. Betterbird only transmits other user data, like calendar data, address book data, chat or newsgroup posts, to the intended configured CalDAV, CardDAV, Chat or news servers.

When you use Betterbird as a web browser, for example when opening web pages in tabs via third-party add-ons or when viewing feed content, those web pages are handled by the inbuilt Mozilla rendering engine and the related Mozilla terms may apply.
