Where to post art?

I don't draw as often as I'd like anymore, but I still do on occasion. You'd never know, though, because I never post it. I don't know where.

There's a hundred answers, right? Right, but none of them feel right to me. I'm going to try my darnedest to explain what I'm looking for.

One of the biggest things I hate about social media at large is how it feels like they've killed off the art gallery website. I know this isn't true, because places like DeviantArt, Furaffinity, and ArtStation are all still out there. Hell, even Newgrounds and SheezyArt somehow got a new lease on life. What I mean is how it feels like just posting your art to Instagram or Twitter has become the defacto way to get your stuff out there. It irks me, because I vastly prefer the look and feel of a gallery-style website to posting my stuff on Bluesky or even Tumblr. This is more than me griping about social media, because I loved Cohost's vibe and still I rarely posted art there.

"well beeks, why don't you just make a gallery page and put your art here?"

Obviously a good and valid answer, but still not something I personally want to do. I want to go where the people are. This isn't a Numbers thing, I don't care if my art never gets another like or thumbs up or fav or whatever ever again. I like having a dedicated and fairly active website, so I can post my art and then check out cool stuff other people have posted. You can keep your metrics, I just want a dang community.

"it kind of sounds like you want FurAffinity"

Kind of! But FA just feels like its best years are behind it, and with Dragoneer passing (love him or hate him), its future seems fairly foggy. I'm keeping an eye on SoFurry's open beta, and I made an account over there, but I've yet to do anything with it. I really liked FurryNetwork, but it felt like it never caught on with the community at large. I know there's also Cara, but I prefer staying in furry spaces. Also sometimes I like looking at NSFW art, and Cara isn't about that.

I don't really know what I'm looking for. It feels like the only solutions is "use PostyBirb to blast out the same post to 3-4 different places like everyone else" and I hate it. And I know this is all just a me thing, there are plenty of people happy with their Tumblr or their FA account or their personal gallery, and that's great. I'm just at this point where I feel paralyzed by choice, except none of the choices are really appealing to me.
